Yangon Tourism Myanmar
Yangon is the old capital and the largest city in the country, and Myanmar is famous for the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, the largest temple in Myanmar where Buddhists shine golden.
I stayed in Yangon for two days, but on the first day I mainly walked around the city and on the second day I spent on the Yangon Circular Railway that I posted last time.
This is an article about a story about riding on the Yangon Circular Railway.
Yangon Shwe Dagon Pagoda
Shwe Dagon Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Myanmar, cannot enter because it is prohibited to enter. Everyone was praying and relaxing for a relaxing time. The pagoda was golden and dazzling. In Myanmar, what day of the week you were born is more important than what day of the week you were born, and the traditional Myanmar calendar “8th day of the week” is used. I was born on Sunday when I asked a local person to find out the day of the week I was born. It seems to be customary to visit the shrine on the day of the week when you were born, only Wednesday is divided into morning and afternoon
I decided to stay at a hotel near Shwe Dagon Pagoda, so I decided to take a taxi to downtown after finishing the visit to Shwe Dagon Pagoda.
Yangon downtown
It took about 15 to 20 minutes by taxi from Shwe Dagon Pagoda to downtown. The area around Sule Pagoda was a beautiful park, Mah Bandura Park, where I could relax for a while. There are also Indian and Chinese streets just a short walk from Sule Pagoda.
Impressions of walking around Yangon
Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar with remarkable economic development, has a lively city, the people are full of energy, and skyscrapers are built, so you can see the economic growth. However, if you eat at a food stall, you have to be careful about hygiene. I have visited Myanmar twice and next time I would like to post an article about the second city, Mandalay.
