Nagoya Castle Symbol of Nagoya
Nagoya Castle, a Japanese castle with a large castle tower, is a symbol of Nagoya, and I will report on it since it came in December 2020.
Nagoya Castle Entrance
The entrance to Nagoya Castle has a main gate and an east gate. If you go from the Nagoya subway, Shiyakusho Station on the Meijo Line, the east gate is near.
The admission fee for Nagoya Castle is 500 yen for adults and free for junior high school students and younger.
Nagoya Castle Castle Tower
The castle tower of Nagoya Castle is big, and I introduced it earlier on this site. It is not inferior to Osaka Castle and Himeji Castle. Most of the current castle tower of Nagoya Castle was destroyed by the 1945 bombing of Nagoya in World War II. It is the second generation that has been rebuilt.
Cannot enter the castle tower of Nagoya Castle
The castle tower of Nagoya Castle cannot be entered in the castle tower in order to deal with the low earthquake resistance. There are many attractions around Nagoya Castle, so I tried to enjoy the area.
Around Nagoya Castle
The area around Nagoya Castle is large, so you don’t have to be disappointed if you can’t enter the castle tower. Hommaru palace is famous
Nagoya Castle Hommaru Palace
The Honmaru Palace of Nagoya Castle is a residence built in 1615 by the order of the military commander Tokugawa Ieyasu. It was completely destroyed by the air raids in 1945, but the restoration of the Hommaru Palace began in January 2009 in Nagoya City, and in May 2013, the entrance and the front hall, which is a place for audiences, were opened to the public.
Ninomaru Garden
Ninomaru Garden is a garden built on the north side of Ninomaru Palace, where successive feudal lords spent their time both publicly and privately. With an area of about 30,000 m2, it is the largest garden in Japan for the palace where the feudal lord lived.
Dolphin Arena
Dolphin Arena is the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium, and when I visited there was a match of the Japanese professional basketball team Nagoya Diamond Dolphins.
Nagoya Castle Kinshachi Yokocho
Kinshachi Yokocho is lined with fashionable cafes and restaurants, and there are also famous Nagoya food stores, so it is recommended to eat Nagoya food here.
Articles on Nagoya’s classic and popular foods
