Ishibutai Kofun Nara
I will write about the Ishibutai Kofun, which is located in Nara, which was an important base in Japanese history.
The Ishibutai Kofun is located in Asuka Village, where there are many tumuli in Nara.
Ishibutai Kofun is a stone kofun tumulus of the Asuka period in the east of Shimanoshō, Asuka, Nara Prefecture, Japan. The kofun is believed to be the tomb of Soga no Umako. It occupies a space of 54 m (177 ft), and is the largest known megalithic structure in Japan.[1] The kofun is also known as the Ishibutoya Kofun.[2]

Ishibutai Kofun
It is not yet known who was buried, but the theory that it was probably Soga no Umako, a powerful clan at the time, is predominant.
It is made of fairly large megaliths and is powerful when viewed up close.
Originally it was covered with a mound made by heaping up the soil, but now that soil has been lost…
I saw it from a distance
